I do like the interactions between Ishka and Yelgrun because it really underscores what this episode is about: a species who excel at negotiation and diplomacy more than in physical might. Ishka's chat about hypocat roots shows how perfectly matched the Vorta and the Ferengi are — All pleasant up front, but you know

I've seen The Magnificent Ferengi a few times now (it is one of my favorite comedy episodes) and the scene in the holosuite where they're attempting to rescue her by force makes me laugh out loud every time.

That's even worse…! Who thought this episode was a good idea?!

You snooze, you lose, Bashir.

Better that than the midwife.

Exactly! (mild spoiler?) It's a shame we never see her again.

I mean it's pointless to beat a dead horse. Resurrection is an awful episode, as every MU episode after the first is.  But it could have been saved if that Bajoran security officer realized "hey, this is nothing like the Major Kira I know" when she starts getting all sexy-hey-give-me-a-neck-rub on him and instead of

YACI is basically a set-dressing episode built on awesome characters being awesome.

That's a good point, I never considered that!

It's there every night when I close my eyes. It haunts me. I wish I knew how you blocked it out.

Agree on that — Dax and Worf aren't exactly burning up the screen together. But fortunately the episode accepts this and mostly keeps them apart.

Martok + anybody = win.

The Worf/Dax wedding episode isn't nearly as cringe-worthy as it sounds, and it will give you an opportunity to see more Bashir and O'Brian antics. (And believe me, you have not seen the last of these two. One of the greatest bromances in TV history).

I don't know exactly how to pin Dukat's relationship with his daughter. Ultimately, he's a selfish jerk of a man, but it doesn't mean there isn't a little space in his heart behind the room taken up by his bloated ego for his daughter. No spoilers, obviously, but you can never be sure how much of his behavior is out

@avclub-0c3e626d1a287cdc48c77515c8dcc243:disqus — I think it stretches a little credulity. Frankly, it would have been more believable if the dress had arrived without provenance and she was distracted by it for those few moments before she figured out it was from Dukat. But it was a nice bookend to Casey Biggs

Yeah, Kira never struck me as the sort of woman who would get all moony over a pretty dress. At least they didn't go down that path beyond "ooh, a dress! He made Damar hand-deliver a dress!!! I wonder if it fits, how would it look on m… WAIT A GODDAMN MINUTE…"

I'll try to remember this in future episodes. Odo/Female Changeling has always been too much about the creepy changeling sex for me.

The Dukat / Kira stuff is so masterfully done. Kira doesn't even realize she's falling for his bullshit until it's nearly too late and she's dressing up all sexy for him and laughing at his little cocktail party jokes.

He's more of a founder than he realized — his need to be the ultimate authority and to install his sense of order and rightness doesn't do well when he's challenged.
