No. Im 46 and spend my youth practically living in the woods of western PA. I lived in next to a forest but I spend a great deal of time traveling around the western half of the state hiking, hunting camping and fishing.

The real issue is why the “Deer tick” suddenly spread across the US.

Deer ticks simply did not exist in Western PA before the late 80s(other, now less common forms of ticks did.) I know this. Its possible Lyme disease existed here and was very rarely spread through some other vector.
