Actually they’re not locked up with them. That’s why maximum security prisons exist separate from medium security ones.

Their families are already saving money by not having to pay for the criminal’s food, lodging, medical expenses, etc. Victims got their restitution by the fact that the perpetrator is in jail. They’re not entitled to more.

I didn’t set any original goal posts. I originally stated that felons should not have full citizenship rights. Nothing I said above contradicts that.

You can’t compare the Netherlands to the US.

Some freedoms may be restricted, but you can’t lose them completely.

Sure I do.

The fact that they don’t is its own problem and unrelated to how prisoners are treated.

You are looking at only the FEDERAL population, which does not contain the majority of the prison population. The majority of prisoners are in State prisons. Taken local, state, and federal prisons together, the majority are in for violent offenses:

No, they don’t. Your source is only looking at FEDERAL prisoners. But most of our inmates are not in Federal Prisons, they are in State Prisons. For the NATIONAL, Local+State+Federal population, the majority are in for violent offenses:

They should have health care, drug treatment, psychiatric therapy, nurishing food, education, job training...

It’s not dodging to call out your hyperbole. You could have stopped and expanded on treating people like human beings, and balanced that out with the need to repay their debt to society.

How much better could our society be if we treated prisoners not only like human beings but actually like citizens

They aren’t anywhere near the majority of prisoners:

Drug offenses do not make up the majority of prisoners in the US. The majority of the US Prison Population is in on violent crimes.

By breaking the law, they lost the rights of being treated like citizens.

To punish them for dehumanizing the people they robbed, raped, or murdered I would guess.

I got no skin in this game, but- high profile people who want to get divorced quietly can accomplish that by putting out a call asking for privacy and respect, and then getting on with the proceedings without involving the media. I don’t remember a lot of stories about Uma Turman and Ethan Hawke’s divorce, or Reese

I m not saying that he should get be branded as a child abuser. I am saying I don’t feel sorry for him that he put himself in this situation. I hope that he can clear his name. A lie is a lie. But I am not sorry that he is going to have to crawl through glass to do so. He knew her of her scorch the earth reputation

Yes because cheating means you should get branded a child abuser... Let’s see what a judge says first, shall we?

That the same Page Six source that had the press harassing a pregnant woman about an affair?
