Two things from the linked article; 1.) Her dresser was pushed up to the window which could mean she snuck out to meet him (not exactly abduction) and 2.) She has a liver condition that requires medication or she could die.

Good luck finding teachers in Michigan at all. They’ve cut their pay so hard over the last 7 years there are teachers now making less than half of what they were. Teachers with 25 years experience that are leaving to other states where they will make more starting over at the new teacher rate than stay in Michigan.
