I know almost nothing about this anime, except that this happens in it. So it’s already a winner in my book.

Modders have had donate buttons forever. Most mods with a few million downloads didn’t get any more than $30 so this is something a lot of people say they will do but just don’t because they are cheap and don’t give a shit. I respectfully submit that Life is Strange didn’t really turn out fine, but I can’t really say w/ any certainty that it’s b/c of its episodic approach.

Just looking at YouTube it’s your average vanilla WoW clone. Nothing like the games it’s based on.

To be fair, the inferior sequel to the original toy also correlates quite well with the inferior sequels to the original movie.

The Nexus currently lets you donate directly to modders. Which is direct, through paypal I believe. And there are a few modders who do Pateron. So, they already have a way to make money through those avenues. I just think we’re going to see a negative backlash on people charging for mods by the game creators.
