I actually think DC’s reboot tendency is a good thing, creatively.

League doesn’t have in-game chat? It works fine in DOTA2. It’s infinitely easier and you don’t have to stop playing or take your hands off the mouse to talk.

Modders have had donate buttons forever. Most mods with a few million downloads didn’t get any more than $30 so this is something a lot of people say they will do but just don’t because they are cheap and don’t give a shit. To be fair, the inferior sequel to the original toy also correlates quite well with the inferior sequels to the original movie.
The Nexus currently lets you donate directly to modders. Which is direct, through paypal I believe. And there are a few modders who do Pateron. So, they already have a way to make money through those avenues. I just think we’re going to see a negative backlash on people charging for mods by the game creators.
