“Never inflate your tires to the Maximum PSI or you’ll risk a blowout!”
The 2011-14 Hyundai Sonata. It looked revolutionary when it was first released, and has still aged well after a decade. I recently drove a friend’s 7 ear old Sonata with the turbocharged engine, and it felt like I was driving something much more powerful. It still had a very solid, “planted” feeling ride to it.
The 2014-2020 Impala was an ideal rental car. Lots of space, comfortable seats, and somewhat fun to drive. I wouldn’t buy one for myself because there’s better options out there, but not a bad car to be “stuck” with. I’d imagine it would be a good car for a teenager to inherit from their grandparents in 10 years.
I remember when FCA cars first rolled out those 8 inch screens on their cars in the early ‘10s, and they seemed massive at the time, and their graphic interface looked very fresh and modern compared to what most other brands had at the time. They seem quaint in comparison now.
Cities aren’t designed to accommodate high volumes of cars. It’s better to park in Jersey, take the train into Manhattan, then take the subway into Brooklyn.
Another one of those songwriters who has a massive amount songwriting discography of generic pop songs. Once you read the list of songs by Jack Antonoff - along with Max Martin and Ryan Tedder - it’s easy to see why so many pop songs sound so similar.
The front looks like the owner had a crash, found a bumper cover picked from a junkyard but didn’t bother painting over it.
The first-generation Nissan Versa’s base model was sold with many popular features deleted, including the radio - just a faceplate on the dashboard.
This one isn’t really “niche” or “tech”, but SUVs and crossovers that have a rear bench seat that slides forward and backward to adjust for more legroom vs. trunk space. The previous-gen Chevy Equinox/GMC Terrain had this, but many (even more premium) SUVs don’t.
The only drawback to built-in dash cams is that they require memory to save the footage. Most dash cams for sale require a micro SD card, which I suppose could work for a built-in dash cam as well, but it’s not really a “set it and forget it” feature like, say, a backup camera.
My old GMC Terrain (and I assume most other GM cars from that era) would have a warning chime come on if the blinker was left on for a long time - usually would happen on very long off-ramps. It always scared me to death because it was the same “critical warning” chime as when your tire or fuel is dangerously low.
The Dodge/Chrysler minivans had this as an option in the 2000s.
DeSantis was born in 1978. Gen-X owns that mess.
Could the sales numbers possibly have something to do with the fact that they ran several different cars - multiple variations of coupes, sedans, and station wagons - under the same model name? There’s a reason why the Ford F-Series is easily the best-selling vehicle model America - it’s several different trucks sold…
They’re one of the few remaining old-fashioned large American RWD V8 sedans, and I’m sure those dealers will finance just about anyone no matter their credit.
I wonder this counterfeit fob technique works on all modern vehicles, or if it’s just an FCA problem? I’d imagine around Detroit there are a lot of FCA vehicles around so it’d be easier to just program the counterfeit fob for just those vehicles.
Remember, before all of that “piano black” and “fake metal” interiors showed up, in its place was that ugly burl-woodgrain plastic trim everywhere. I’ll take the piano black plastic over that any day.
My parents were not “car people”. They’re the type to drive their cars into the ground. My dad in particular cannot fathom why I care about things like horsepower or anything above and beyond seeing a car as an appliance.
I’ve heard of a lot of crashes, murders, and crime caused because “God told me to do it”.
The combination of the facial hair, sleeve tattoos, and the use of the phrase “God saved me” make me never want to meet this guy in real life. I bet his social media is filled with nothing but vague platitudes about following your dreams and pictures of himself in clubs captioned “last night was a film!”
