I am extremely happy with my N810, tethered with my phone. But a $200 netbook might finally get me to buy a laptop.

A fantasy of mine is to link my parents' network with mine. They live less then a mile away but I do not have line-of-sight. So I watch posts like these with some fascination.

Strange that the idea of an antenna repeater with line-of-sight was not mentioned. Some people have had wicked good luck with this.

I read _A_LOT_ of electronic based articles, periodicals and books. I happen to read a lot of paper based books as well. I would say that having electronic versions are way more convenient for periodicals and articles then for books (do you honestly more then one book at a time). But I would say that having electronic

I have already been bike commuting for about 10 years. So there was little change in the way that I drove. I did start paying very close attention to the price at the stations and figured out which ones were cheaper near me pretty darned quick.

The best part of google reader iPhone beta is that it works for other small computers too (like my Nokia N810!).

Using the iPhone reader interface on the Nokia N810 - FTW!

GVim with Cream is the way to go for newbies.

Wait a second!? No mention of unison.

It should be said that commercial skip is built right into MythTV. It works surprisingly well. On top of that, MythTV has a audio/video playback feature where you can either slowdown or speedup the playback of a program. So not only do you shave off all of the commercial time, but you play back the show faster.
