You are correct, let’s get the Afghanistan government to do it instead! I’m sure Trump would be willing to come out of retirement and renegotiate another deal with the Taliban on our behalf?

I’m not going to pretend that I know all that much about high voltage batteries; but in cases where a fault could lead to a fire, then you probably need earlier detection on that fault.

Oh yay, found the contrarian Republican who is simultaneously pro-war and anti-war. Or pro-whatever-Trump-tweets-on-any-given-day.

OR maybe we could get the Federal Trade Commission to start doing their job and crack down on companies who use words wrongly.  Like Full Self Driving for a product that doesn’t fully self drive.  Or the use of the word ‘Unlimited’ when there are in fact limits.

This is really less a story about being able to get a bricked EV into neutral; and more a story about EVs, or any car for that matter, having a limp-home mode.

You have a real problem with generalizations. You read:

German over-complication.  Check.

There are many, many better ways to calm traffic, but America isn’t willing to pay for most of them. The speed bump is effective, yet penalizes even those who drive safely (it’s uncomfortable and causes suspension wear). I’d much rather have sculpted medians, diverters, and pinch points.

Oilheads also have a “cam in head” acting on four valves per cylinder. Another update to check on is if the improved hydraulic cam chain tensioner has been installed. It’s not a hard job.

“it’s not like it’s an iconic typeface” sure, to you maybe not

Even with pretty white ladies it’s not normally national news.

H2 vehicles have been in development longer than modern Li-ion powered BEVs, with not much to show for it. Remember the H2 BMW E38? That was more than 20yrs ago now.

They’ve been exploring hydrogen for far longer than BEVs, and here we are. I don’t see hydrogen becoming a better option for anyone other than the manufacturers who don’t want to have to drastically change everything in the near term.

I like that the Tundra shares quite a bit with its competitors, the same way you might share your wife with a friend. It seems weird, but it’s actually masculine and modern. In the world of design, you want to be a sponge, and just soak up all the details. Don’t wrestle with “what you should do” on design.

I don’t think a Caravan from that era could pass TÜV when new.

Having been in the fleet world, I have bought all types of domestic trucks, including transits/connects, Mercs, NV2000, etc. Even had Nissans since they were added to the state contract in NC. With my money, I would go and buy whatever Toyota I could find for a decent price. Why? When do I need the “most”

The truth is that the “thinking man’s truck” is actually a cargo van…

Reliability difference starts to show around 60k miles.

11.3% of original owners keep them 15 years or longer, which is 1.8x the average. It’s ranked 5 on the list of cars kept longest; a list dominated by Toyota.
