One word: bitter!

I don’t mind the somewhat mushiness, it is the bitterness that they develop. When I make corned beef and cabbage, I put the potatoes and corned beef in the crock pot, and then steam the cabbage separately, using the water from the crock pot.

I recently saw a tip that people should take a cell phone picture when they unplug things, lock doors, and the like, before they leave. If they’re worried, they can check their photo stream, and then delete it before/when they get home. No more turning around and driving back.

I have never experienced that, unless you put cabbage or broccoli in them. Cruicform vegetables don’t do well with slow cooking.
