"...auto white balances EVERYTHING, overexposes his subjects, and can't light a detail..." ~absolutely-fibulous

*facepalm*

Mmm. The husband makes chocolate flavored coffee that smells so good. I'm not a coffee drinker, but that would be a fun use for it, along with plant fertilizer....

Best of luck! My husband's advisor was always busy on local tv and radio, and contacting him was a real pain. The advisor-advisee relationship can be really weird, I agree.

Considering that the author of Hunger Games was inspired by the legend of Theseus (Greek story, and MUCH earlier than Roman) and the 24 hour news cycle during the Gulf War, The Hunger Games is both our past and our future.

A national shopping holiday for teen girls? I...just....*facepalm*

Not for me, thanks. I'm really glad this works for some people, but as the person who is between sizes in EVERY piece of clothing, for my WHOLE life, I have to try things on. I can't order ANY clothes or shoes, for that matter, online. I have to take a whole damn day to try on everything, leaving a huge discard

I'm with you. : )

$800,000.00? No wonder some "Pregnant Women Are Smug" Garfunkel & Oates nailed it!

I have no idea who Zilberman is, but I LOVE her hair! Mine is a similar color, and going grey just opposite of hers, streaks around my face, and sprinkles everywhere else. Several months ago I said, "Screw it!" and quit dying it. I'm just letting it go, and right before my 40th birthday in December, I'm going to

Anyone else think this was going to be an article about a new trend in pedicures that involves caffeine infused foot soak and lotion?

I get this weird feeling that his "art" is nothing more than him working out/freaking out about the fact that he was recently poor and now can burn a bag "worth" tens of thousands of dollars with someone connected to the Hollywood elite. The whole thing is really mentally messed up.

Yes, I agree with all of this. Although, I have to think that it could have been done in a more interesting manner. All his "art" sounds formulaic & contrived, if the descriptions are to be believed. Why not an elderly person, a man or someone obviously middle class involved in the destruction?

I read the NYT "article" the other day and couldn't stop shaking my head and *facepalm*ing. SO many stereotypes in a two (web)page article. They had to work hard to get them to all fit. Disgusting.

I don't think she was saying that because she believes it, necessarily. I took it more as, "This is the narrative that I always heard growing up and internalized." Kind of a realization that stereotypes are just that, stereotypes and not really related to reality.

You're welcome, Larissa! I don't have a degree, myself, but as Mr. Par's spouse, I've been around that world for over 10 years, now. I've heard a lot of stories; some good, and some infuriating. Have you considered talking to the other people on your committee? Maybe someone could be a better advocate.

Awesome sauce, Colesore!

I've gotten one like and comment (from the same person). Nothing else yet. : )

Ahh! Oh my God, that is horrifying. Why am I nauseated? I actually am, it creeps me out so much!
