“Chaotic good” as how I described Agatha last week, and her trajectory during this episode just hammers that home for me. There’s still a lot of the sassy-neighbor-next-door and hammy villain in the beginning of the episode, but by the end (for me) her words register as more the righteous indignation of a learned

Agreed, 100%. One of the great things about the way that they’ve approached depicting Agatha is that, even if I’m right and she ultimately turns out to be good, it’s given Hahn a chance to ham it up as a villain. I think that she’s giving Cate Blanchett a run for her money (and that’s saying something, because I loved

Yep! That was my thinking, too. She even asks them to help her control her powers, but instead the rest of the witches (sans her mother, at first) start directing their blue magic at her. We see something red glowing within her—pretty similar to Wanda’s chaos magic—and rise in her throat, as if the other witches are

Oh, I agree. I’m just thinking he might arrive as the result of Agatha’s invitation. I have a feeling that they know each other.

I keep going back to that moment in the previous episode when Agatha, watching from her window, doesn’t intervene in Wanda’s showdown with Monica until the latter says “Don’t let [Hayward] make you the villain, and Wanda replies, “Maybe I already am”. In the basement and in her theme song, Agatha hams it up, almost

S.W.O.R.D. Director Tyler Haywood (Josh Stamberg) is a more banal villain than Agatha, likely because he doesn’t have a viral theme song. However, he’s no less sadistic.

I’ll be okay with it—in Feige and Hahn I trust—but ultimately I’m hoping that MCU Wanda has an easier go than her comics counterpart. They’ve put the latter through hell so many times. I’d like to see her MCU counterpart start to process her grief and heal sooner rather than later, and Agatha (and specially Hahn’s

Exactly. A lot of peeps say that the song was there to help the audience digest the big reveal, but I think that the creators gave us enough credit to have figured out already that “Agnes” was someone or something other than what she appeared to be—even Agatha, specifically. There are straight news publications like

Ah. I forgot about the Ultimates. Or rather I try to forget about the Ultimates (not my favorite alternate universe).

Or he's her familiar or from the Nexus and he's safe and sound somewhere (cuz magic!).

Agatha Harkness is a character who has been varying degrees of mentor and villain in Marvel Comics past...

I saw this over the weekend and someone pointed out that Hahn is listed as the lead performer and ostensibly (from the other performers listed) the only female voice, meaning it's largely Hahn herself that we hear singing. That's even more awesome.

Oh yeah, more or less the same thing, I think. It's in Florida instead of Jersey, IIRC, and Man-Thing was involved in sealing it up, but based on the commercial I think they might be nodding to it being in the MCU.

This is me to a tee.

Could be! The “show” Agatha puts on was also for Wanda, though, to bring her up to speed. They could pick up from there next week and reveal that all of the apparent mischief has been a service of a higher purpose.

Oh, that could be hand waved away in the first few minutes of the next episode. I could see Kathryn Hahn selling a line like, “Oh he wasn’t even real.... he’s a demon [or spirit] I summoned to play a part, and when he ‘died’ he went right back where he came from. He’s fine. He's probably on his fourth margarita by now.

It's got a real Wicked Witch of the West "and your little dog, too" vibe to it.

the MCU’s Agatha Harkness appears unquestionably malevolent.

It definitely stood out for me, too. I thought that maybe it was just supposed to be a bit of creepy set dressing, but you may be right. Wanda asks about the twins right after the cut aways to the bunny and the bug (a cicada, I think).

That’s an interesting possibility that I hadn’t thought of. I thought that the rabbit in the cage is Señor Scratchy (it looks like the same rabbit), but who knows with this show (I love the twists and turns, personally). My money is on the twins being outside safe and sound, playing with “Pietro”, but that’s because I
