Or how about “It’s Never Too Late for Now,” the episode of 30 Rock in which—along with the reveal that Pete used to be a member of Loverboy—the gang concoct a plot worthy of Agatha Christie to pull Liz out of a post-break-up funk, going so far as to create a fake hipster bar, Canal Yards Project (an anagram of Tracy

How about “My Fuzzy Valetine,” the episode of Bob’s Burgers in which Linda tries to help out Valentine’s Day sad sacks Mort and Teddy by hosting speed dating in the restaurant, only to have Valentine’s Day curmudgeon Sgt. Boscoe sabotage it:

Personally I love the drive-by non sequiturs. Like in “I Get a Psy-Chic Out of You” when Sgt. Boscoe is describing the Little Boy Bandit and Linda says that the description “sounds like Sandy Duncan,” Gene walks into frame to grab something from the counter, chides Linda with “Everyone sounds like Sandy Duncan to you,

Or to the craft services table on his ill-fated talk show.

I’d buy an Onion mug and an irregular Intolerability Index t-shirt to help with that pledge drive.

And with the increasing importance of “nerd culture” a lot (a quarter to a third?) of what the AVC has been covering for years now was already being covered for GMG by iO9.

I’m probably grossly misinformed about how these things work, but I wish that readers could have done something similar for the AV Club, instead of it being sold to Univision and squeezed into an ill-fitting GMG suit, only for Univision to then put it back up for sale like a year and a half later.

The worst casualty for me was lime Runts. Well, those and lime Pixie Stix, which from what I can find online weren’t actually replaced by apple but were rather just phased out.

If they’re like me they grew up with lime being the expected flavor. Skittles, Runts, SweeTarts, Life Savers, etc., all had lime. It wasn’t until the 1990s and Aughts that green apple began to replace lime. I’ve accepted that it’s just the way that it is, but it does suck, and occasionally I'm caught off guard

I don’t think that they’ll do anything like this—because any remaining nuance is going to go the way of the stone men—but I think that it would’ve been interesting to see Varys and Tyrion grow more slowly disillusioned with Dany over the final two seasons. They didn’t see her early acts of draconian justice (like

Nice! Thanks for the vid!

Gendry is an unacknowledged bastard of the deceased former king by a tavern wench. There is no earthly way that the nobility would allow him to become king.

You’re gonna be paddlin’ upstream going against the love of Teddy around here, mister!

Oh, shit! I totally just flaked on that one. I agree completely!

“You know, that thing where millions of people around the world take turns dogpiling someone they don’t know but have very definite opinions about thanks to an often-misunderstood misdeed.”

Early on in the show’s production Tina was actually written to be a boy, also voiced by Dan Mintz. The production team decided to change the character to a girl (and keep Mintz, as they thought his voice still worked for the character), and I think in retrospect the most prominent traits about Tina might point to why

Personally I think this show is a great example of how the best ensemble comedies rely on the cast (voice actors or otherwise) riffing off of each other, complementing each other, and otherwise creating a gestalt. Louise is my probably my favorite Belcher, but even in Louise-centered episodes the other Belchers always

“Gene Belcher is annoying. He’s loud, self-obsessed, and not especially bright.”

Shirley: “Shut up, Leonard. I found your obituary. What’s the point of informing people you died?”
