According to the NHTSA, 27 deaths came from the faulty fuel tank in the Pinto. 3.1 Million Pinto and variants were produced. On a percentage basis, 0.00188% of Jeeps result in death. Only 0.00087% of Pintos result in death. The Jeep is more than twice as likely to result in death than a Pinto.

Any mention of a nice loaner car for the time it's out of commission? Maybe a BMW M6...

Toyota Sienna circa 2004:

In 1991 there were both GT and S4 models with 5 Speeds in 90 and 91; in 88-89 all 5 speeds were GT's. The nice thing here is the PSD (0-100% Differential—fan-freakin-tastic). This MAY be a GT based on the wheels however...

Yes-yes it would be—if you are your own wrench or are friends with a Mechanic. Like any 15+ year old car-there will be lots of catch up maintenance. You could pay 2x for a 911 same model year and spend the same on maintenance...

Um-apparently you haven't been under the hood (or boot) of mid-80's to mid 90's Porsche's...check how many parts are stamped: 928.xxx.xxx.xx and check the seats in a 911 today—from the 85 onward 928...There is more from the 928 that lives on today than almost any prior Porsche-including the 911's of the same time.

By the way-my 91 has light steering-check that the Power Steering is full of ATF (yes ATF) and not empty. The shifter can be changed to a short shifter and it is far less balky (under 2 hour job). Come join the 928 Owner's Club 928oc.org and learn much more! I'm the New York rep. Oh and you will see me at PCA track

Um-except for oil sump issues-it's a great track car-auto or stick. The sump issues can be fixed easily.

"But in hindsight..." I think you mean "Butt in Hindsight."

Ontario, Oregon. This did not happen in Canada...

Bah my 91 Porsche 928 has an X-Pipe (with cats) and I can barely hear it inside (the 91 had great sound proofing) unless the windows and sunroof are open...I heard this when I was in my friends Infiniti G35. Cheesy.

I guess he used the PPG Color Match system...

Road: Corvette. Track: Viper-hands down.

Exactly. My Porsche 928 owner's manual says don't open the roof above 80 miles per hour. They mean not to open it. I can attest you can drive with it well over (allegedly) 120 miles per hour.

The standard brakes on my entry FWD 2013 S60 T5 are incredible. They do get hot but I doubt I could cook them. Plus if they include the 5/50,000 coverage on this car, I believe the pads and rotors are covered (could be wrong!) This car is so sexy-never thought I'd use that in a sentence with Volvo...except if it was:

Must have been a GoDaddy video she made...

You ARE right! Holy crap! I just was listening to this video-sounds manly. The 458 sounds whiney by comparison.

Porsche 928. Take a lot of work, time and money-but when they run right-they are amazing. Great to work on and incredibly supportive community.

It might cost a little more with the same options but I'll take my 2013 Volvo S60 T5. The 10 seconds of overboost raises torque to 295 and doesn't feel like it has any turbo lag.

Whoever gets it-I hope they don't run it in tape-delay (oh wait NBC ONLY knows how to run it in delay...UGH!)
