Why are governments so obsessed with crushing cars? Why not just seize the thing and auction it off to someone in whatever market it might be legal, and pocket the proceeds? They’d make more money that way, and that’s pretty much all they care about anyway in these cases...

Telling the small town folks tough titters sounds like a regressive tax.

If you are an edge case driver at 0.00, the level of impairment that comes with .05 may be all it takes for you to merge into that motorcyclist.

Research and statistics also show that the vast majority of serious and fatal DUI accidents are by people at 2x the limit, yet the enforcement and penalties do not reflect that. Source: NHTSA - in 70% of fatal crashes at least one driver had a BAC of 0.15 or higher; the most common BAC in fatal crashes was 0.18.

You think 0.05 is drunk.....

The vast majority of CO does not have taxis/Uber/Lyft/public transportation, correct?

Then you shouldn’t pretend that most people in those areas have access to the services you mentioned.

In my state, they usually get most of their DUI busts from setting up checkpoints and making everyone blow into a breathalyzer. I’m fine with upping the punishment of anyone who commits a different traffic violation while drinking, but it is draconian to just determine an arbitrary number and bust people who aren’t

Clearly you’ve never lived in a city that doesn’t have access to lyft, uber, or taxis. Or alternatively a rural community. Driving while impaired is bad, but I’m not impaired after two drinks. This is a stupid rule to punish non-Mormon fun havers.

Fake news! I’ve been getting speeding tickets in manual-transmission cars for years now. YEARS.

You’re doing God’s work, and you beat me to it.

Proofreader Man to the rescue! (sorry, it’s late and I’m procrastinating at work)

Depending on your own personal ethics, you can do this.

A lot of insurance companies ask if you have any “anti-theft devices” when insuring a vehicle (at least here in the state of Michigan).

Nothin’ stopping you from exaggerating the truth here.

NOTE: I do not condone this

Time for an Insurance Discount for all Manual transmissions....it’s the least annoying anti-theft device out there.

The positive spin is she got rid of her Saturn.

Then they would apologize for pulling you over.

the clerks at car parts store can provide great firsthand advice

No you weren’t. Seriously, read my articles before commenting on them.

Yes, you should read my article. At least I had the courtesy to read your obsecenity-laced comments.
