It’s the risk a civilian takes when they sign up for ride along. The officer is responsible for that person all while doing their job. It would be a rather large mistake to force a ride-along civilian to exit so you could continue your work.

No joke - my wife just described something similar when she saw them at the “Genesis” dealer. When I told her it was a Hyundai, she was no longer interested.
