I ride my FIL’s ‘86 Interstate. It is indeed a nice touring bike. I have gripes about the carb setup (and low-speed fuelling issues) and the fact that I have to choke the damn thing for nearly 5 minutes to get it to run well. But once it’s warm, it’ll eat up miles.

That’s where the blue fluid you may have heard called urea or DEF gets injected into the truck’s exhaust stream. That blue stuff is basically ammonia mixed with binding agents, which converts noxious NO_X into harmless nitrogen and water.

The initial lag sucks, that’s for sure. I’ve been told that a GDE tune retains factory warranty and eliminates the lag. Still doing the numbers in my head to see if I **really** want to do the tune.

They are comparable on towing and payload, that’s for sure. We have a RAM EcoD and I’m appalled that this little guy is rated to haul/tow what a full-sizer is. Then again, RAM has lacked on payloads and depending on configuration, towing, for a few years now...
