Point 1. I was going to get an SUV since I anticipated driving my aged mother around, and she had problems getting in and out of my previous sedan. But she passed, and I got a sedan instead. I don’t regret my choice for the comfort and features. It does 80% of the highway driving, too.

Actually, I would point out that SUVs are just minivans. But, there’s nothing wrong with a minivan. If I needed the features of an SUV, I would get a Sienna, and call it a day.

Not to mention the 20" wheels that seem to be standard these days.

So much sad.

Thank you for this uplifting piece. It’s a reminder that no matter how bad you think your life is, at least you are not the gold-plated douche nozzle driving this “thing” around. Have we calculated depreciation?

Add 10 more inches in the middle, and it’s a winner. Looks very dumpy in its current configuration, IMHO.

Don’t forget to factor in that most long haul deliveries are to warehouse facilities, and not to individual buyers. So that should ease self-driving bulk freight delivery. However, I think a good first test is in port drayage. Unless there are unions involved. Are there unions involved?

Well, seeing as how Jalops usually gripe about the lack of driver interaction, from experience, the lane keeping assists and radar enhanced cruise control work pretty well for most purposes while forcing the driver to stay engaged. I think Minority Report got it right way back in 2002 when the self driving pods of the

The mens rea elements are missing from this incident in that there was no intent. It was never theft. Let it go already.

Indeed, we’re not even able to see one now, by dint of the properties of black holes themselves. We have some very localized radio back scatter, but are no closer to “seeing” one than before.

Or take a bus. 60 people over the same distance works, too.

Why don’t you have more stars?!

Crossovers ARE minivans. Momma always said, a minivan is as a minivan does, Forrest. Nothing fills me with greater existential dread than considering owning an SUV. Nothing, I tells ya.

“crypto mining emits anywhere between 3 million and 15 million tons of carbon dioxide globally.”

My Lexus ES is built on the same architecture as the Corolla, so no, or not necessarily.

Came here to post that. Noice.

Those are some nasty bugger welds on those extensions. I got his joke, or course. The BelAZ 75710 has a 32 foot width, so probably beats this.

To be fair, though, that original Multipla looks like an Isetta 4-door.

It’s probably worth all that for the bits. I’m not a fan of homage cars, so I would remove the Goat badging and restore the original. Also, Pontiac didn’t have small and big blocks, just small and big crank journal sizes, so the 326 weighed about as much as this 428. I replaced a 326 Pontiac with a 327 Chevy in a Le

Love how their instruments keep changing, and the sounds don’t match the instruments. And the bad synching. Those were the days.
