Ha, I actually attended Birmingham-Southern College. An even SMALLER, unrecognized school.

Uh, I will thank you kindly to pay respect to the BLAZERS OF UAB

Anyone see the video of the brawl amongst the tents at LSU-Bama this weekend?

FYI, there's plenty of PAAAAAAAAAWWWWL throughout tonight's doc.

I lived in NOLA for years, dated crazy LSU girls. So they have a special place in my heart and who I'll ultimately root for. I just think if you look at WHO Bama's big games have come against, it pokes holes. Kent State, North Texas, Ole Miss, a mangled Flordia squad? Penn St isn't exactly a powerhouse either (see:

I'm hoping for a way both teams can lose. Still, amazed how many people seem confident in picking Bama. Lot of over-estimating their offense, underestimating LSU's defense.

Oh, totally. The Olafur set was in one of the halls in the Harpa Arts/Music center and it sounded gorgeous. There were a few other sets like that I wanted to see but missed, including the Bedroom Community set with The Iceland Symphony Orchestra.

I found the new songs much more accessible in this environment. And based on some videos surfacing on YouTube, it seems this is the same basic stage show she's done in larger venues, just on an endstage set up? "Declare Independence" was as close to Bjork getting "metal" as we're ever likely to see. And the Tesla Coil

Johann and Olafur fall into that pop-classical category, no? I saw a few Bedroom Community folks at off-venue shows but didn't have legible notes to transcribe.

Or it was just a random arrangement of the names. Trust us, we love Canada with every fiber of our collective being.

A.V. Club Philly isn't shutting down.

No, Fort Collins is in print only for now. But you can still catch up on local goings-on at the Denver/Boulder site if you don't hold too big a grudge against the Buffs.

As good a reason as any to revisit the Gateways to Geekery we just did on the band (and my favorite band).

To-may-to, to-mah-to?

SHAFT
So this means Obama will show the same group a scene from the original "Shaft," right?

For their 2001 Unplugged performance, Stipe slips in a few lines of "Like A Rolling Stone" at the end.

@Dikachu - OOT has my fave - "Half A World Away" but there's only so much space. As fun as this was to write (they're my favorite band) it was equally difficult.

Yes. Just mentioned this above, Live at Olympia is - thus far - the definitive "official" live recording for them. Though, if you can get your hands on a bootleg version of the 1991 MTV Unplugged performance, that's awesome, too. "Love is All Around"!
