If it makes you feel any better I used to babysit for a little boy the same age as your child who could not understand why he wasn't allowed to be in the bathroom with me while I peed.
I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure that the women participating in this form of protest do know how to drive and many of them hold international licenses or a license in another country.
Or maybe women are just so accustomed to having our voices dismissed by society that we feel the need to communicate "no this really hurts" more strongly.
Thank you for sharing. I agree that silence isn't working.
I have mixed feelings about the "As a woman I'm going to have to ask that you stop comparing your proctologist appointments to the pinball scene in the accused," joke. The rest of them (Maya's included) elicited a pretty clear-cut negative reaction from me.
As someone who grew up in NY, I tend to agree.
Yup. You totally hit the nail on the head.
I was always suspicious of the claim that red wine is good for you. The reason being that I like red wine and there seems to be an inverse proportion between my enjoyment of something and its overall health benefits.
Oh for the love of God. I thought we had finally gotten away from this.
Eh she is a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN in addition to being a move star. It's not like he's entertaining Snooki.
Someone clearly had a helluva zoom on their camera. I say this because you can't jump the fence. Every year one or two disturbed people try, they usually make it about 2-3 steps before being cold clocked by a previously unseen secret service agent.
I think it's generally context that determines whether or not a sex act is degrading for any parties involved.
It is none of anyone's business what you do with your body or how you choose to provide adequate nutrition for your child.
My FI was mildly bummed when I told him that I wouldn't be taking his name because our last names wouldn't be the same. So I offered him a coin toss. If I won he had to take my name, if he won I'd take his name. He turned me down. Damn.
Well first off I'm a woman, so they're not giving my social group a bad name. Also I'm not sure how that second bit (I'd venture to add that someone using guns to solve their frustrations is using "poor logic".) fits into the debate. It just seems like a random quip, am I misreading something?
My other main problem with this statement is your implication that you can reliably assess someone's character solely on the basis of their gender- which is a notion that I strongly reject.
I'll agree that men are more likely to act violently than non-men due to the way they are conditioned by society. However there are many men who are not violent. Just because one social group has a higher tendency towards a behavior does not justify making negative claims against every member of that group.
That is not what I said. If you want to argue with me, please don't try to build a straw man.
You're employing some really flimsy logic to make a pretty offensive and entirely too simplistic claim. Pointing to one statistic that shows a higher tendency for a destructive behavior in one group than another is hardly evidence for making universal claims against every member of that group. Also while men may be mor…
