Which will be meaningless if we continue to destroy the lands used for growing food and fresh water. Oil spills being a prime target for killing anything beneficial from open lands. Humans (at least those in the US) can't take care of the environment the way it is. What do you think is going to happen if we keep

Many of those stores you listed don’t even sell the same games, thus the audiences are completely different. Battle.net for example only sells Blizzard and Activision’s IPs. That’s hardly competition for Valve, since Steam has 99% of available PC games. The Windows Store, while being thoroughly mocked is the same. And

3) Has a deal with Tencent, who also admits to collecting information from users

The coined term for this BS is called “Gun-To-Head” defense.

Yup, that is allowed in the US and it usually happens. Many of these developers or even non-game studios, the employees are treated as contract workers. (which makes them temporary and disposable). So to avoid paying benefits that are mandated by law they have scheduled layoffs, sometimes after specific period of

It’s legal throughout the US, and I can promise your “civilized” nation of Texas (did you really type that with a straight face?) it’s happening.

This has nothing to do with Tencent. Because America doesn’t believe in American ideals of fair wages for fair work and collective bargaining. Haven’t you noticed the demonetization of unions by companies already in the US? This isn’t a “OMG China bad!” issue. It’s a hive mind issue on workforce.

Of course not. Right now Riot could stand to look intelligent, but they want to continue to be stupid.

Steam users can't even protest Call of Duty to get dedicated servers. You think gamers will stand in solidarity over this?

Its hard to be shocked or care about this scene because you’d swear among FF fans this was the only game in existence. I’ve never touched this game and I already know what happens because this was spoiled ad nauseum.

Sadly Squeenix cancelled all but one "episode" (dlc) for FF15. So if you are waiting for the other 3 you are going to be waiting for a long time. The fact they haven't bungled this up is shocking.

Nope, you aren't missing anything. That's exactly what forced arbitration allows. And it's not strictly in the gaming industry. Anything you sign or agree to will probably have an arbitration in the fine print. I discovered that even car dealerships have it too.

Because it’s a Republican’s God given right(tm) to use up all non-renewable resources, ruin all fresh water sources and kill off as many species of Animals as they can. Something something freedom.

Take your upvote and get out...

In essence, forced arbitration is:

But hey, at least that male is just gullible and easily-misled instead of actively engaged in sexual harassment, presumably. Progress.

Actually, yes, people are entitled to those basic rights. It’s disturbing that your initial reaction to this is that workers are in the wrong. Must be a generational thing.

Either you sign it or you don’t get a paycheck, and it’s not exclusive to the game industry. You will be very hard pressed to find a business that doesn’t have one of these clauses. Even dealerships have these damn arbitration clauses.

Currently these employees and pretty much all game industry employees can easily has reasons invented to have their careers fucked with or even sacked for making too much of a fuss, with a union at your back that becomes much harder.

Employers have taught people to hate unions, to believe they provide no benefits. Walmart’s onboarding process with anti-union brainwashing is a perfect example of that.
