How are student-athletes supposed to unionize when they’re not even considered employees in the first place?

The sheriff... repeatedly mentioned using caution and not rushing to judgement.

I wouldn’t be so sure. If we’re talking about the recent Revis coverage, really anyone could be behind it.

It’s a bit hard on Wolff. He’s tried to get a stadium done. Fremont is written about in this post. He tried to build a park just north of the current stadium after that but the landowners weren’t interested in selling. He tried going to the Supreme Court over San Jose. The other sites mentioned in this piece have some

Kevin, thoughts on the SG just giving up on writing? I basically grew up religiously reading his columns, though I fell way off during the later Grantland days. I feel like if he got back to writing a column, his Ringer traffic numbers would go way up.

Basketball is about a million times better than it back in the day. Which in some ways is a pity, because I would LOVE to see peak Iverson/McGrady/Carter and the utter havoc they would wreak in today’s NBA.

Think you mean his son, Ed Glazer. Malcom died in 2014.

This is one of the stupidest things I’ve ever read. Perhaps you’re joking. In case you are not: this country was not founded on a song written during the War of 1812, a song not adopted as our national anthem until 1931. You may now return to the grays forevermore.

This is a good take.

What made Game 7 was close was Maddon doing everything he could to lose the game. Starting with using Chapman in Game 6, then panicking and pulling Hendricks and Lester too soon in Game 7. The game would not have been remotely competitive without his buffoonery.

Don’t forget Florida State.

and Super Bowl 50 took 3:43 to complete. I realize this includes the half time show, but for a game that has a 60 minute clock, that’s a long effing time for about 12 minutes of actual game play.

Could be because baseball is the only major sport in America where the defense starts with the ball.

I understand the annoyance of such a long inning but the thing to remember is that Contreras is a rookie catcher (and was in AAA for most of the first half of the season) in the World Series and in a must win game. Cut the kid some slack for double and triple checking the signs and game plan.

A runner on base in the 8th inning against one of baseball’s most electric closers in a one run World Series game felt like pure hell to watch? Why do you write about baseball????
