Heh, I do this for my room. Window open, waft the air around a bit with the door.

If you're looking for a DLNA media server, Serviio is a decent cross-platform media server

While scientists sometimes do that, I'd say more often than not such blanket claims are the fault of journalists, reporters and bloggers misrepresenting the facts, confusing correlation with causation, not having a grasp of what is and isn't statistically significant, and taking things out of context.

The metal casing of hard drives provide some shielding, and the kind of magnetization from screwdrivers are unlikely to effect it. Especially consider that all hard drives have a pretty strong magnets and coils INSIDE the metal casing that drives the read head, and the spindle motor.

wrong, time.windows.com was consistently off for me by three or four minutes last month (and yes, I did compare with pool.ntp.org, and time.nist.gov). Switching to time.nist.gov or pool.ntp.org solves the problem

worse than that! time.microsoft.com was giving me errors of 3 or 4 minutes last month!

Yeah, I get that, back in university, the library was a great place to study - there definitely wasn't any actual social interaction between people, but just being amid that collective buzzing of minds at work really focuses your attention.

Incidentally, I work well with a clock ticking in the background. However I once made a clock with an irregular tick, which disrupted sleep and generally made things feel uneasy at night, so I've gone off loud clocks altogether now.

Surely you're not suggesting that an author or artist should share their work as it is being created?

I'd agree that solitude boosts creativity, and probably for that reason, I prefer to work at night. But for any work involving problem solving, I find it easier to find the solution while I am explaining the problem to someone else.

It was already on the phone, I suspect it's Samsung's modifications to Android 2.3 since it wasn't a feature on my previous android phone, but I'm guessing there should be apps that have similar functionality.

Android (or at least on my GS2) has this "smart" alarm, which starts outputting with some soothing ambient sounds (forest, beach, etc.) a few minutes (user configurable) before you regular, more abrasive alarm sound. I find this a better way to wake in the morning.

Regexp!

Sure, I see your point. I was referring to your first comment about notification bar - I'd prefer having a nice looking clock on my home screen than a small simple clock in the notification bar (when I get around to rooting my Samsung Galaxy S2, I will get rid of the notification bar clock).

Yes, I find it useful to know the temperature of the day while deciding how warm to dress (without having to step outside in my underwear), and whether to bring an umbrella.

I'd agree with Haizum74, appearance and presentation is very much part of the way we judge each other. Lifehacker's website could be done in 24pt comic-sans font, on a pink background. You could go to school wearing only a fig leaf. You could use plain old notification bar clock. But in the end, web design is

Ok...you are quite rude and confrontational, but I'll bite. Let's see... physiologically speaking humans have adapted pretty good in this world. Humans evolved to be quite proficient runners, and many professional runners will tell you that they are most comfortable running barefoot or at least with footware that

I don't know about SeekDroid, I use Prey because it also has Windows, Mac and Linux clients, so I use the same account to track my laptop and my girlfriends' laptop.

You guys crack me up.

You should DEFINITELY get an app for tracking your phone in case it is lost or stolen - Prey, or Where's my Droid, or similar.
