I think LifeHacker are trying to list specifically "VPN services that let you redirect your internet connection through". OpenVPN and Hamachi, and the like are software that will let you do this, but some people might not want to bother with the hassle of setting it up, or don't want an always-on VPN gateway computer

I'm not surprised - Listerine was invented as a powerful antiseptic used to clean wounds and incisions during surgery. (And then subsequently also to clean floors, and cure gonorrhea)

@Coodoolde1: Did you read the Lh blurb? It says "His tutorial demonstrates how to set up the panels to charge a set of AA batteries but you could easily adapt it to trickle charge your phone or MP3 player instead."

Quite possibly this won't work so well when you tap this directly to an MP3 player/phone since the charge controller IC on these devices will either not switch on to charge at all, or even worse start intermittently going into charge mode.

@alxw: I second this, my new 1.5Tb green drive outperforms my dual 160gb 7200rpm RAID 0 pair. Admittedly this was on the motherboard's RAID controller which isn't the best around.

@badbob001: Definitely cooler, I have an uncooled SATA dock (it sits on my desktop, and 3.5" SATA drives plug right in). Regular 7200rpm drives get too hot to touch after a few minutes of use, while my WD Caviar Green remains very slightly warm.

"skip walking to work if you are trying to get to work on time"

@BluegrassGeek: agreed. It's like saying "buy a private Jet! you can recoup the losses by not having to buy gas for your car" instead of saying "buy a private Jet! if it fits your finances, need for rapid travel, and extravagant filthy rich lifestyle"

@Michael Lush: well, you've always got the option to hook up a whole bunch of USB SD card readers and use a logical volume manager/software RAID over them...

oh the lengths people go to to justify buying an SSD at ridiculous prices.

I agree with all the previous comments that involve:

most programmers will agree with me: four spaces is superior to one or two spaces

needs some herbs and spices - oregano, basil, and such (you can get a jar of mixed Italian herbs). Shouldn't add too much to the cost, but makes things much nicer

@kschang: classic example: "have you stop beating your wife yet?"

@ForestDestiny: I had the same concerns before using Teamviewer, their website says "TeamViewer includes full encryption, based on RSA private-/public key exchange and AES (256 Bit) session encoding." I don't know how much this applies to the mobile version, but I'd say it does.

@ovirto: it helps what? Hunger isn't an issue, and I guess after years of not having regular breakfast, it's just not part of my morning routine any more.

@swc oxcart: I haven't had regular breakfast for maybe 6 or 7 years now, mostly out of laziness. If someone were to cook me breakfast every morning....

@Haizum74: I upgraded from 6.0 Final to 6.1 Final, so I wouldn't be able to tell you what changed between RC and final.
