I honestly wish neither Bernie nor Biden would have run. As I had suspected, and as I’m seeing start up now, their presence essentially makes 2020 into a re-hash of 2016. I don’t want that outcome again.

Honestly I found this documentary too sad to be entertaining. Netflix is selling it as some sort of bonkers wacky adventure with colorful characters and crazy twists, but it’s really just a depressing glimpse into the lives of people with unaddressed issues of abuse/abusers, poverty, and drug addiction. 

There’s no ethical consumption under capitalism, either, but we still need to buy shit. We’re all navigating a corrupt system. Nothing wrong with trying to mitigate the harm done.

Probably because so much of what passes for being progressive online is taking ideologically sexy but wildly unrealistic positions and then shitting all over people who don’t match those positions 100%

I really dislike this line of thinking. You’re essentially relying on other voters to do what you perceive as the dirty work for you. That’s not fair to them, and it’s kind of cowardly as well. If everybody thought that way, NJ is no longer reliably blue; Parable of the Commons applies.
