It’s mainly the downhill sections where engine braking is traditionally used to keep a safe speed that I’m wondering about. They’ll cook their brakes if that’s all they have to use unless they’ve come up with something else. They may have, I just haven’t heard anything about it. Hopefully they’ll be more info on this…

They do, but when going down hill, trucks will overheat their brakes if using just them, so they downshift and use engine braking to help keep speed under control on hills. I’m just wondering what systems they’ll use on these new types of trucks.

Will they handle engine braking better? I would suspect they’d generate massive amounts of heat if they used regenerative braking.
