They do, but when going down hill, trucks will overheat their brakes if using just them, so they downshift and use engine braking to help keep speed under control on hills. I’m just wondering what systems they’ll use on these new types of trucks.

Will they handle engine braking better? I would suspect they’d generate massive amounts of heat if they used regenerative braking.
