I’m a journalist that has lived in the beltway my entire life. I’ve heard drunkards boast of traveling to these places, but always assumed that they were fairy tales. But the trip from New York to LA always did seem to take me over something odd, and I wondered if there might be some truth to these rumors.

Thank you for this. I’m ashamed to admit that it’s never occurred to me to tip stadium vendors, despite usually being tip conscious (20% on takeout orders, etc.). From now on I’ll be less of a trash human in the rare instances when I find myself at a game or whatever.

What kills me is that 20% is such easy math. 1 for every 5 dollars. Round up if you’re between. Literally count on your fingers. Doubling your tax isn’t easier than going “5, 10, 15, 20, 25 - 5 dollars!”
