I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought this years race was boring. I thought it was just because of the lack of competing factory teams in the LMP1 class, but I wasn’t aware of the mandated rules about the stunts and the fuel. That’s insane that they would regulate that. That takes away a good strategic

“Grab a couple wrenches...” how about a hoist and an engine jack and a.... ? But you’re right, might as well clean up the other likely issues when you drop the engine. New clutch time, timing belt/chain water pump... you know, all those little items that will be a pain to deal with later.

How do we know Ford isn’t really dead? The scene of him running across ford playing with the scalps was before he was shot by Delores.

Or folks who just want the nice ride at little entry cost. I’ve been hooked on the Audi’s for a while now. Had a B8 S4 that was perfect for commuting, but not too good hauling a couple kids, and I always pined for the D3 S8s. With their aluminum bodies. I figure that’s worth something here in the rust belt. So I

But the true depreciation hits after that warranty expires. That’s when to pick these up. Still good life left, but since there’s no warranty protection, most folks run away. But you better be budgeting for the repairs.

Hit the nail on the head. The engines are good, as are the transmissions, it’s the other systems that will cause headaches. But I love my D3 S8. They aren’t for the faint of heart.

Is it not possible to walk or bike? 2-1/2 miles seems simple enough to go it on foot. But I don’t know the context of the area and all that. Why would anyone take a bus at that rate of travel, for that short a distance?

Yeah, I forgot about the Foam systems, but those may contain water as well, that’s why a gaseous system would probably work better.

I’m surprised the factory didn’t have some other fire suppression system besides water. Like fm-200 or something like that. Glad to hear no fatalities though. That could have been much worse. And as for the cost to the F-150 line, you can bet some accountant has that cost already tallied up.

That and then it looks accidental for insurance and all that. I’m sure not all of them are that way, but I’m willing to bet a few of them are.

Who says it’s an accident? I mean Florida and all, and Toyota and Lexus drivers.... do you know, maybe it’s all part of the plan.

Yup, some people just can’t handle it evidently. I love mine.

Actually that won’t work, audi and chrysler, and cadillac unlock when you pull on the handle if you have the key near the car. Pretty simple though. Audi and chrysler have little buttons on the door handle, you press them and the car locks, you get a nice beep and you’re good to go. My ‘06 cadillac would auto lock

Seems like proximity keys aren’t for you then. After about the third or forth car with them, you get used to them.

I think this problem is taking care of itself. No need to change anything. If you can’t understand the damn singing when you open the door and your car is on, then well, sorry about your luck. You can’t idiot proof everything. They keep making better idiots.

Good point about fixing vs new stock.

If they really want to save money, they could limit the amount of cars a team could have, engines too. Make them run the same short track car on the superspeedways, or they could make a superspeedway car and try it on the short tracks. That should slow them down without need for restrictor plates.

If they introduced different tire compounds, similar to F1, that would be interesting. Let them carry as much fuel onboard as well. Then you could get some interesting strategies happening.

And that’s why F1 pit stops are 2 seconds instead of 15. Well that and three people per corner doesn’t hurt either, but yeah, would be nice to see some actual technology make it to NASCAR. But it took them how many years to figure out that you can inject fuel into each cylinder instead of through a single

And all that money you just “saved” will come in handy when the fuel pump burns up prematurely do to running the tank on E all the time.
