Very true—the cost of living findings are indeed for a single person (they point this out in their methodology). It’d be interesting to see what the numbers look like for families.

Surpigingly, the wall that gives me the most trouble is the one my front door’s in. The walls I share with other people are less annoying than hearing people clomping about on the sidewalk and raising their volume x10 just because they stepped a few feet outside.
Good luck living comfortably in LA (unless you’re inland, or in a tiny apt) on $75k.
Never won’t click play on that one. I smile too, cashier lady. I smile too.
My husband’s appendix ruptured when he was in his early 40's (who knew he still had one???) and yes, it can be very serious indeed. He was hospitalized for four days. He and I have always joked about the technical medical term his doctor used when describing his appendix the day after surgery as “necrotic and yucky”.
Wow, I knew he dropped out of a project a few days ago, over health issues. I guess this is why. I really, really hope he’ll be okay.
Is it sad that I totally am in love with him because he’s married to Sofia Vergara and not dating a random string of 20 year olds?
Yeah, I have a Ph.D. in Religious Studies, so I am not the useful kind of doctor, unless you want to look at different denominations of Protestantism or analyze Hindu epics.
When my BFF wanted to watch this together, I told her, “Eh, I don’t think I’m going to like it. Neither Channing Tatum nor male strippers really do much for me.” But then I gave in and watched the movie. The scene where Tatum dances to “Pony”? I felt the same way until I watched the first movie. That man can move.
You are right, of course - I meant the general shirtless area.

The framing effect is a big one and is extremely powerful in politics. A lot of times it seems a “movement” of one kind or another really takes off when it is framed properly:
I’m betting she didn’t whisper “If you hit it you can hit it”
If people enjoy working out during and after pregnancy, good for them.

This article feels obtuse. I believe she is saying there is a difference between understandable and acceptable. Grown men started propositioning me when I was 12, because I looked like a grown woman at that age. This was both understandable and unacceptable. Can't we hold both ideas at once?
“However, throughout my adult life, I have arrived at the conclusion that that dream is not going to happen. Now, does that mean I’m not going to wear the short skirt and boob shirt? Of course not—I wear what the fuck I want. But I do understand what kind of world I live in, and I’d like to think that that is what…
Yeah, Rooster even says something like “stop, you’re enjoying it too much”
As a biracial woman, works that examine this sort of thing always interest me when they’re done by people who know what the hell they’re talking about. So, pretty much anyone other than Rachel Dolezel, who has never been caught between a race or culture or ethnicity or anything else. Bitch, you ARE white. You…
