I don’t have cable anymore and Bring IT! is one of the four or five shows I miss. I love the dancing. I love the yelling. I love it all.

bring it is sooooooooooo good

They’re crazy in a different way, though. I appreciate that Diana keeps the moms out of the studio and doesn’t use their daughters to pit them against each other for the sake of tv drama. She is good role model for all those girls.

Shut your whore mouth. Bring It! Is AMAZING!

DD4L!

I love those women. They always look like they are having so much fun..

Yes

I am still persecuted for confessing that when given the choice btw an allowance and tv guide in the 80s, I chose tv guide. No regrets.

I actually remember reading this essay and watching the movie because of it. This was my teenaged introduction to James Baldwin.

The only thing anyone needs to know is that the over-represented regressives of rural bumfuck will gladly burn this state down in pursuit of Gilead. Deal is an establishment GOP, corporate shill through and through, but he won’t spurn his masters or Moloch to please the Bible-thumpers.

Yeah, all that tinkly stuff-it’s not new. How about Rolling Stones for babies?

Depending on the location and nature of work, some may have residency requirements. I know Chicago has very strict residency requirements for both city workers and teachers. Some counties and municipalities have residency requirements for public safety workers, which is logical because of the on call nature of their

Yeah, the prices in my neighborhood are totally nuts because people from China are plunking down over a million in cash for a tear-down, sight unseen. And then the houses just sit there empty most of the year. It’s driving the rest of the market into the stratosphere.

A $20K down payment assistance? Hahahahahahaha. We live in LA, which is cheaper than SF but still outrageous. When my in-laws offered to give us $10K or so to help find a house, we thanked them for the very sweet offer but declined it. It wouldn’t make a bit of difference to us and would make life harder on them.

Yeah, your tale reminds me of the spice challenge I deeply regret. Same deal as you described, I routinely eat curries and such that most other people just stare at me blankly and ponder what darkness lies in my past to cause me to willingly and eagerly inflict such self-harm. Some of the easiest money I’ve ever made

You can do it! I was terrified to swim for about 15 years but I made myself try and it’s really fun! I can’t claim to be a natural or have any skill, but I can keep my head above water without thinking I’m going to drown, which is good enough for me.

Good for you for getting yourself and your daughter swim lessons. It is such an important skill to have. And, because kids LOVE water even if they don’t know how to swim, it could be life saving for your daughter. I live in Florida and drowning is the No. 1 cause of death for little kids here.

That’s awesome! I taught my husband how to swim a while back, he was in his late 30s. My mom’s forever boyfriend is 60 and he’s never learned! And they both grew up going to the beach in the summers, it just never happened. You and your daughter will have so much fun!

Don’t be afraid! Swimming is wonderful - it’s the closest we’ll ever get to flying unaided. Embrace the blue!

Please read this excellent post from sister blog, Vitals. I’m not graceful when I swim. I think I need to find my balance point in the water too.
