I have Equity Accelerator set up with Chase. Every two weeks it takes half the "pre-requested by me" amount to pay my mortgage. Going by JUST 1/2 Mortgage payments alone, 1 "extra" payment a year goes to principal.

My insurance agent recommended digital photos of items, a doc or PDF with descriptions and serial #'s, and an optional video walk through of the home burned to a CD that you store offsite (friend's house, Safe Deposit box).

@hildegaard: Similar story. When I stopped "believing" (for lack of a better word), my mom said to humor her and at least hang in through my confirmation. I did, haven't looked back since.
