if they didn’t want her to go, they would haven’t let her.
if they didn’t want her to go, they would haven’t let her.
So she graduated through her apprenticeship, where she earned straight As for the killing of people, but her GPA was brought down by the “only the people we say and without personal malice” part, fought off a much more experienced assassin, made her way to Westeros, snuck into a castle and assassinated a bunch of Freys…
This. In GoT, you want to get a guy to reluctantly lead an unlikely group of people to fight for something nearly impossible? You go to Jon Snow.
Rookie...i’m not sure of that. She graduated and then went out and killed Frey in the most metal way ever. Have some pie :-D
Thank you! So sick of people not understanding what the term actually means.
On a related note, they should have just had her hiding under Bran’s wheelchair all along. As soon as the Night King appears, as they all expected, she pops how and says hello. STABS!!!
It was absolutely not a deus ex machina.
The entire thing was built up, foreshadowed, hinted at etc:
* Arya’s training to become a Faceless Man in the first place
It’s almost like her killing the Night King was a 14,000,605 chance and Bran knew exactly what was needed for her to win by sending her away....
The show has built up Arya’s assassin skills over the years, so this did not come out of nowhere. She absolutely takes majority credit for slaying the Night King. Also, IF the show has any plans for Jon to have a “big” moment in the remaining episodes, why the hell does HE have to ALSO be the one to kill the Night…
Jon screaming at the dragon was 100% just Jon realizing he was getting nowhere hiding behind a rock, and figuring he’ll die one way or another, so he might as well try to kill a zombie dragon. If the Night King’s entourage didn’t even realize Arya was coming until she was being choked, there’s no way a dumb dragon and…
Perhaps they shaved their heads?
Discovery isn’t making Klingons diverse though. So far, they’ve all had the same redesign, and it made a point of showing that all twelve clans (or at least their leaders) look the same.
There was actually a fair amount of thought put into it:
Yeah, you have to remember that it’s way more than just skin colour. Black man don’t tend to have hair as straight as Worf’s, and they’d generally have trouble growing Fu Mancu moustaches
I’m a white guy so maybe there’s some detail I am unaware of but I never thought “these guys look African”. I actually thought “they look more alien”. I also never thought “these are bad guys”. I thought “oh, this is a allegory about cultural misunderstanding and both sides are determined to impose their values on…
I haven’t seen the show so I’m only going by that header photo but... most African looking? Worf looks like a handsome black man, that thing up there looks like a monster.
If Martin ever does finish the books get ready for a whole wave of endless “the show’s ending was better”/ “the books’ ending was better” think pieces.
*Theory: Jaime dies at some point next season and Arya takes his face and kills Cersi with it.
This was one of my favorite episodes simply for seeing how characters played off each other. When everyone was in the Dragon Pit I don’t think I’ve been so entertained just seeing different characters look at each other. But just, Tyrion and Bron, Jaime and Tyrion, Jaime and Brienne, Tyrion and Cersei, Arya and…
What an awful first episode to watch! Seriously, you spoiled a major major twist for yourself watching this episode. This is a show you kind of have to watch from the beginning.
