Yeah I think the bigger issue is that our history focuses so much on white historical figures. Honestly I like both series a lot- I’m not a big fan of Buffy Season 7 but I think 2-6 had a lot of strong episodes (though some of the misery porn in 5 and 6 was a bit much for me- that’s part of why I didn’t like Season 4 of Angel as much. The Wesley betrayal was a lot to process).
