That tumblr is not without its own issues, but I didn't know another place that lists a bunch of them in one easy link. And that was just 2013 and before. He frequently talks out of his ass. I'm over people making excuses for him. He's a rich asshole who is out of

'Person of colour' = OK.
Coloured = I would cut a bitch if someone called me that. I am Black. Thanks.

Poor baby. I know, an America where you can't be virulently racist ain't your America!

I think part of why that didn't go over as horribly as it could have was that the ACTUAL black actor's character kept giving him shit for it, he experienced a level of othering, and it made it a point to talk about how controversial/borderline ridiculous it was.

Seriously. Kudos to her for realizing how dumb she is and "feeling sad" about it, but you know who *really* feels sad? Black America watching this go down.

But she didn't apologize tho...

She totally learned that, like, nobody can even take a joke YOU GUYS. People are so sensitive about respectful blackface these days!

Yeah, by calling it a sensitive topic she's basically saying "I can't talk about it more cuz I'll say something dumb and get in trouble again."

I mean, it's acceptable to feel like, "well shit, I'm never going to make that mistake again." Then, if you want to actually learn a life lesson, you figure out exactly why what you did was so hurtful, and apologize without caveat. But she seems to have stopped at the first part (although I'm just going on this one

Exactly. She wouldn't have regretted it without the backlash. Ugh.

There is a proper way to apologize - one of the most important things is to directly address what you did without any talk about reasoning or intentions - you have to leave your self defense out. She said she was dumb - but what was she dumb for? Actually doing it, or thinking she could get away with it?

The OITNB fandom's treatment of Suzanne in general always really, really rubs me the wrong way; her appeal to them seems to have a lot to do with her amusing them, and not how deeply realized and nuanced she is as a character. I see GIFs of the scene with her talking about wanting to work with mentally ill children a

Oh relax. Do you need some burn ointment?

I know. The lesson she really learned was that she can't get away with it.

Dating women doesn't always mean you're straight.

Is "Don't do blackface" a big lesson? Or an obvious statement? I mean, I glad she has regrets but a big lesson?

What lesson did Julianne Hough learn? That if you are white, blond, basic, and can claim naivete, then all is forgiven? Her career was already crappy, so it is not like the industry punished her for her actions. If anything she got a career boost out of her publicity stunt. She became the unnecessary 4th judge on

We do tolerate it. She got yelled at, not jailed. She has to tolerate our criticisms too, because that whole free society thing works both ways.

Hough's quote is making me question what the lesson she learned was, though. Did she learn that blackface is not ok because people will yell at you, or that blackface is not ok because of the myriad of reasons it's actually not ok? This line is what is making me ask that question:

me: ho dont do it
