Mine was a 2nd gen, not a 3rd gen.

It happens. Every manufacturer no matter how good they are produces a lemon from time to time. It was my turn to get one. I just wish Honda had stepped up and supported their product a bit better. That’s really what rubbed me the wrong way.

Wow. I didn’t know the gap was that wide price wise. Is the interior volume/cargo space comparable on the two? That would certainly make the Honda a bargain if they stack up well against each other.

Torchinsky’s law of vehicle enthusiasm strikes again! No matter what the car, there is always someone who loves it and sticks up for it. Glad you like your Crosstour, my friend. Continue to enjoy it!

I actually didn’t mind the styling of the venza. It was a camry tall wagon. My in laws have one and it has been an absolutely superb vehicle. It’s a great highway mile eater. When they were still being made I actually recommended them to a few people and they love ‘em.

My wife’s (former) ‘04 CRV blew its compressor at 80k miles. It had better longevity though. She beat the crap out of it and it lasted to 150k when we traded it in. Aside from the random AC issue, she didn’t have any trouble with it. It does seem like a Honda problem.

I bought it brand new.

That was another thing I couldn’t stand. The thing was a twitchy meth freak on the highway. Long drives in that car were PAINFUL.. I drove it from southern New England to Prince Edward Island and I wanted to kill myself by the time I got there.

I think that one might be my error. They had a horrendous Q2 and for some reason my head extrapolated that out to the entire year.

I was a bit surprised too. Right now I should be considering an Odyssey as I’m looking at vans, but I won’t go near one. My experience was probably one in a million, but it was enough to cross Honda off of my list of future vehicles.

That sounds like the behavior mine exhibited prior to compressor detonation. After the compressor and blower fan were replaced, it wasn’t as bad. Mine was a 2011 Sport MT

I’m sure I did get the lemon. It happens. Honda NA’s support was what killed the relationship though. Such great phrases as “we don’t control our dealer franchise network” and “your issues are not covered under the factory warranty, what would you like us to do?” irritated me as most of the issues I was having had

2nd gen. It was a 2011. I survived 80k miles with it before I had to dump it out of anger and frustration.

You caught me. Honda has never made any mistakes ever.

I think you answered your own question there.. Limited supply. Honda also moves more volume than Mazda could ever dream of, so the development costs are amortized over a greater number of vehicles.

I feel things too. I feel glad that I won’t remotely consider this vehicle, as it’s predecessor I owned had it’s HVAC system grenade at 50k miles (which Honda refused to admit was a design flaw even though there were numerous TSBs concerning the EXACT failure I had), numerous suspension issues, blown fuses every 3

Bobson Dugnutt didn’t make the team this year? Bummer.

It worked on me. I bought my 3 with most of the bells and whistles and an auto. First auto car I’ve ever owned.

It is unfortunate, but I get it. Mazda lost a ton of money last year and they need to sell what people are going to buy. Not a lot of 6's with manuals found homes last year. If they can save a few bones by removing that from the production line, it’s in their best interest to do so.

As much as I love 3 pedals, I want the model with the turbo and some electronic goodies. I’d rather have the loaded model with the auto than a rental spec with a manual. Some people consider that blasphemy, sure. In an ideal world I could have both, but I’m realistic.
