I have looked at the traverse and its fancier sibling the Encore. They aren’t bad but I have trust issues with GM. I owned 90's Pontiacs and am gunshy. I know it is a completely different company these days, but I haven’t been back to GM since 2004 and I don’t regret it much.

My sister has one of the last of the previous gen CX9's. She was going to buy a Highlander or Pilot and I sent her to drive that instead. She loves it, and I was able to lure her into the Mazda cult. I love everything about the CX-9 except comparative smaller cargo space and the iffy 3rd row if you have legs. The

I look at it this way.. If you really really need a 3rd row, a minivan is the way to go. If you need it once or twice a year, an SUV is fine. It isn’t much different than the old station wagon days with the rear or side facing seats in the tail. They weren’t meant to carry adult passengers comfortably, but if you need

Slapping someone with cold cuts for the purpose of relaxation might be my favorite mental image of the day.

One can buckle, one can’t. My heart says CX-9 because it is a king sized version of my 3, and the interior controls are all laid out the same. It would be Mazda #5 for me. Every time I have strayed from Mazda it has bitten me in the ass.

Heh.. Funny thing is I view Crossovers/SUV’s as a compromise. You needed the minivan, but you went with the crossover because it isn’t a dreaded minivan.

I wasn’t going to bother with the AWD on the Sienna. The new transmission is making me nervous though. There are a lot of bad reviews out there for the 8 speed, and my buddy with a 17 highlander just had his go before 20k miles.

I’m not creating anymore. I’d need a new house before a new car. They are still pretty young, but right now our fleet can carry people and stuff, not both.

All questions that I would ask. I’m down to CX9 vs Sienna for my choices, and this thing is a dark horse 3rd place. I sat in one at the NY auto show and the 3rd row seems even smaller than the CX9.

Is the bump in power actually noticeable? Even the turbo version of the outgoing model seemed a bit pokey.

I downloaded so many cars. I really want to play that game again now.

I loved doing donuts in wrigley field with that thing.

I’d take a clean one without hesitating. As others have said, the fighter jet motif is a bit gaudy and overdone. They are really just stripped down old school big engine lightweight chassis fun. I dare you to drive one (in sunny weather) without an ear to ear grin occupying your face!

Midtown Madness was a forgotten gem. I had both the original and the sequel. The San Francisco course was awesome, and the Freightliner truck was surprisingly fun.

Long Voyager speaks the truth. I also had a grand am SE for a few years. Mine was a 97 and had the quad 4 as well. The stereo was worth more than the car when I got rid of it. Oh the 90's.. more innocent times.

My college had a car club and I met some interesting people through it. As with any group of car enthusiasts, there are a few BSers.

Nope. These things all rusted out or mechanically imploded decades ago. I haven’t seen one up here in years. The northeastern orange iron oxide mites feasted on these in CT.

This is the absolute pinnacle of American cheese luxury, and deserves to be relished for the spectacle that it is. PADDED HEADLIGHT COVERS PEOPLE!!!

Every car goes out of production at some point. I don’t think it is a big deal. Fusions are also fairly common. Parts availability will not be a concern for a while

Well sorted B-body wagon that has been well preserved.

I’m in. I need more wagonbeast.
