From what I have heard so far, it is closer to the engine in the C7R rather than the 6.2 liter (based off the Ecotec3 block) that they were using before. It’s not ENTIRELY new, I would suppose, but it is still a new powerplant to the platform. On paper, it’s still a GM v8 prepared by Earnhardt Childress.

Impressive given it is an entirely new powerplant too. I was hoping Joest would put up a better showing.

You and I have similar tastes on a lot of things. I too really like 4runners especially the v8 models. My only about the 4runner is the inside is weirdly small despite its large appearance. Tough to describe. I think it would be a tough pill for you to swallow going from a minivan to a body on frame SUV.

Not just velour my friend.... PILLOWTOP VELOUR

It’s an interesting tradeoff. At current pace I drive less than 10k miles a year. Gas mileage shouldn’t be too big of a concern. At the same time, I don’t want to do anything goofy thermo wise that would pooch the turbos. Short trips = not warmed up etc.

I’d need to ship it cross country to New England. That’s the major hurdle. If this thing were within a 4 hour drive, I’d be on my way to look at it. My neighbor had a white sedan version of this and he drove it well into the 2000's. Damn near 300k miles if I recall.

Dude.. You’re a mazda guy like me. Totally get it. I had an ‘04 6 hatchback that still has a place in my heart.

DID WE JUST BECOME BEST FRIENDS?

My wife knows some sort of weird wagonbeast is going to show up in my driveway one day. I think she’d be thrilled if it cost under 5k, as opposed to the ecoboost Flex I’m evaluating. Even used ones are in the 25-33k range.

Um.. I may legit buy this

That’s the one feature of this vehicle that is making me cringe.. That bangle butt.

Patrick, you all need to come out to NASKART in CT. It’s about 2 hours from Manhattan and it’s the largest indoor track in the country.

Cars like this are why I don’t have Jay Leno money. I’d totally buy it with his checkbook. My own, on the other hand, not so much.

According to the timestamp, you and I apparently had the same thought 4 minutes apart, with first place going to you.. Well done sir.

If you can do the labor yourself on the clutch and tranny, this isn’t a half bad fix n’ flip. The values of AW11's are starting to climb.

I’m glad someone somewhere was crazy enough to do this, and to do it seemingly well. I’m also glad that someone wasn’t using my wallet.

When did Dunkin start carrying delicious treats?

Holy crap.. For once I actually agree with Torch.. Everyone needs a Delica!!!

There’s a guy in my town that has two sportbacks, a blue one and a white one. I have no idea where he found one, much less two.

This looks like a weirdly well cared for minivan that was treated as disposable by the majority of the folks who bought one. I have to admire the commitment to preserve a normally unloved vehicle. Complete NP, because mid engine egg.
