I feel like we’ll be having the same discussion about the Buick Cascada in a decade or so. I’ve officially seen one of those things on the road, and my reaction to it was “oh yeah, Buick does make that.”

It isn’t so much the engine on those that is the issue. As long as you keep up maintenance and do the timing chain service (this killed a lot of cx-7s) you are OK. Check the diff as well. It liked to leak and it was expensive to repair.
Can the tradition of buying staff members strange cars continue? The Yugo was fantastic.. Gifting a jalop staffer a Suzuki X90? That’s comedy.
That is far greater of a discount than I had imagined.. Wow.
This poses the question.. has there ever been a hybrid or full electric LeMons car? I would imagine the first gen insights and prius are probably cheap enough now.
Used ones are going for less than 50% of original MSRP. It’s a far better option to go that route than a new one. 20% discount on a 1 year leftover ELR would still put you in the 60k range as opposed to high 20's low 30's for a used one. That’s what makes the 7 sold in June of this year puzzling!
My reaction exactly. I want to know who the 7 suckers who bought a dust collecting ELR were.
GT3 in in a different league though. I’d be happy with a regular ol’ 911 targa. As long as I bring money to the table, they’d be happy to sell me one of those. It’s not exactly a manufacturer specific bias that I have, though it may seem that way. I get more joy out of reading about and seeing attainable cars because…
Didn’t mention Ferrari once in my comment. The Italy comment could be interpreted as that, but there is more than one supercar company in Italy. My comment was more on supercars/hypercars. I can’t get excited about them because my chances of owning them are remote. Even if I did manage to make millions in my lifetime,…
This is why I can’t get excited about hypercars anymore. Sure, they are cool, but the chances of me ever owning one or seeing one are minute. Not only do you have to have more money than you know what to do with, you have to break into the club by spending even more money so that some asswipe in Italy thinks you are…
People laughed at the 10/100 warranty when it first came out.
Interesting take.... The Citroen Mehari... For the man that looks at the 2CV and says “Well that’s too safe........”
DO IT DAVID!! You’d fit well as a member of the brotherhood of spinning doritos.
In reality it’s a GT race. There’s only 3 or 4 PC cars.
I just hope Joest is as fan friendly as Sylvain and the gang were. As an unabashed Mazda supporter (yes we exist), Speedsource always supported the Mazda owners groups and gave us garage tours and answered all of our dumb questions about the cars. I’m hoping Joest keeps the spirit of fan friendly teams going. This…
The prototypes will not be at Lime Rock this weekend, and the Mazdas are parked for the year.
I actually am in the Columbia, Charleston, and Kiawah areas pretty frequently. SC seems to lack the hyper aggressive New Englanders for the most part. SC seems to have more drivers that will piss you off just because they know it will piss you off. Especially if you have out of state plates.
Lord no. I’d be the one backing up and heading the opposite direction if that were the case. Dunkin is overpriced watery drek.
Yeah, this happened when I was having to head up to Hopkinton and Franklin a lot for work. That puts things just about in the 2011/2012 range.
Mass is the only state where I’ve seen someone go through a tollbooth, get several hundred yards beyond the booth, and then proceed to come to a dead stop, chuck it in reverse, and back through the booth again.
