I heard a guy say once that in terms of addiction it wasn’t “Mission accomplished,” but “Mission accepted”, and with that I agree 100%.

I *would* be a fan of Antabuse if only it worked for people. It works about as good as any kind of aversion therapy ever has, which is to say, not very well short-term; and not at all long-term. The only thing good about Antabuse is that it can be really good for helping someone get some clean-time under their belt.

The thing I like about TSM is I don’t need to join a support group, go to rehab, or abide the thought of never having a cold beer again. With the Sinclair Method, I can keep my recovery to myself, and I can still have a drink with friends as long as I have my naltrexone to block the endorphin rush that used to make

I used to be able to have just one glass a day, and then it gradually plateaued at half a bottle for a few years. In recent months it turned into three quarters of a bottle to satisfy me. Who knows how long it would have been before it became a full bottle every evening.

I used to drink about three quarters of a bottle of wine a day. Now, it’s less than half a bottle. This is after 2 weeks of treatment. It’s really slowed down how fast I drink that quantity, too.

Lol!

Have you tried using Naltrexone? I’m getting sober using the “Sinclair Method” and it’s turning my life around without a lot of effort.

In case you don’t see my comment to Sipowitz, you might want to consider the “Sinclair Method”. It’s painless, and doesn’t require abstinence. I decided to try it after hearing it had a very high rate of success, and my drinking has been decreasing without any real effort on my part.

This one made me laugh so much it’s starting to annoy my wife.

Ungreyed for awesomeness.

This is the best one I’ve read.

If you want a painless way to control your drinking, try the “Sinclair Method”. No willpower or abstinence required. Worked wonders for me so far.

Dude, you dodged a bullet, even though you landed on some nails. Every day just think to yourself how awesome it is that you don’t have to grow old with that disloyal, exploitative harpy.

She did you a huge favor, man. You should have kissed the hem of her garment for saving you all that crazy, and then found a normal woman.

Did that guy she calls “romaine” chime in?

Yeah, I forget. I read the book in 2001.

In the book Black Robes, White Justice there is a similar story. The author, (a black judge) is awaiting medical treatment in an ICU along with a barely sapient white man reeking of booze and homelessness. The doctor, having been told “The honorable judge Wright is awaiting” him, comes past the curtain, looks at

I want to know this as well.

Unce! Tice...
