I thought the hat was a nice reminder of Lound's character. A lying sleaze who has contempt for the trial, except if it gets her some publicity for her new book.

But that will be replaced by Jack and Will going through Hannibal's closet, trying on suits and giggling like schoolgirls.

I had the similar but different thoughts. I thought Hannibal was the copycat, but that would mean Hannibal was spiraling out of control since it was ham-handed and sloppy. (It never occurred to me that it was someone else in the court room, like Will said.)

Or even the pettiness of Chilton. In Silence, Hannibal mentions the small punishments he does when Chilton doesn't get his way (taking away Hannibal's drawings, for example).

Maybe the FBI warned her that the judge was murdered brutally, but she was thinking "real-world" instead of "Hannibal over-the-top fantasy". She is a higher level administrator, and not a specialist like Jack.

I was also getting the impression that she was resenting that Jack could be professional about the ridiculous murder scene, while she was holding onto her dignity with a thread.

I had to think about my initial post before writing it. Trying to "get you to watch it" was the wrong motive, like if someone wanted to get me to watch "Glee".

After reading through the responses for this sub-thread, I'll give you two things to think about.
