Eh things are different now. No one back in the day treated Golden Girls like anything but a mediocre sitcom either. But thoughts about culture change over time and those thoughts can be become retroactive.

totally with you - I can think of so many shows that would have been great for 1-3 seasons that ran waaaay too long. I get they need to make money, but if you have a defined start and end point, the product is far superior. (Manifest is the latest example, and now we’ll never know how it was supposed to end).

I was asking one of the few people on the Right side of politics I am still in touch with about why he hates CRT, and he sent me a link to a whole essay. It boiled down to a few leaps in logic:

Yeah, people who think they’re going to somehow get hosed if people from any minority or oppressed group finally get equality aren’t looking behind themselves at the rich people (including politicians they’d jump in front of a truck for) lining up to really screw ‘em.  

I did some post-graduate study in Portland, OR—home of the radicalist of the radical (mostly white people)—and yet somehow we were not taught CRT. And yet somehow white Americans think this is being taught in K-12? It’s absurd on every level. It is objectively wrong.
