I interviewed for an internship at Vice in 2004 and a job in like 2011. Both times it looked like the least professional office imaginable, with male employees acting like idiots and female employees being the “responsible mom” type. I was highly qualified for the rights & clearances job I interviewed for and during

Indeed.

Ar the time they founded the company, Smith and Albi had every reason to think McInnes was a fine person. Kicking him out later I’m sure had nothing to do with protecting the brand. /s

In fairness while Gavin McInnes was one of the original three founders (Shane Smith and Suroosh Alvi being the others) and he was shoved out before the company ballooned into what it is today. Having said all that, NAME AND SHAME! NAME AND SHAME!

Yep. Gavin McInnes founded the company. He supports banning Muslims from the US, believes all trans people are mentally ill, that feminism “has made women less happy,” called black people “monkeys,” said multiple antisemitic things, and founded a group called the Proud Boys which is an all-male white-supremacist

I have been waiting for this moment for literally 12 years.

“Non-Traditional Workplace Agreement”

Franken is a Senator, a long time public figure, and an adult. The allegations against him are credible and point towards a pattern of behavior. We hold adults, public figures, and politicians to a higher standard and we recognize that repeated behavior is more serious than one-offs.

We have to hold ourselves and our side to a higher standard. Otherwise we will never raise the bar: only lower it. Especially now, right now, in this very moment.

There ARE degrees to this shit, you’re right...and Clinton’s alleged offenses rank among the worst. Lewinsky was bad enough, but Paula Jones and especially Juanita Broaddrick were much, much worse. And there were others.

Nice to know that your belief scale for women saying they were sexually assaulted is dependant on the man accused. not, you know, the women victims.

Franken must resign. It hurts to lose a Dem... but it hurts even more that he did this in the first place. And if we protect him - no matter how much less his actions seem when compared to others - then we have no principals to stand upon when it comes to condemning a person like Roy Moore. Power corrupts it seems.

I’m not surprised to hear this news.

Honestly, resignation does seem like the right move at the moment.

I am, on some level, troubled by the idea that a person’s career can be tanked on the basis of allegations alone (though that photo from the first allegation was pretty damning), but when multiple accusers come forward, we’re only left with two choices:

Totes.

Ehhhhh this is not something I would have made a stand on. Why does he need solidarity?

As familiar to anyone with an abuser or sexual assailant who is considered charming or more blandly “a nice guy.”

Does this flurry of Franken apologists have anything to do with the fact Tweeden is right wing? None of these stories are about her, they’re all about how “clearly” sorry Franken is, and giving him a pat on the back for admitting it.

Ted Bundy didn’t murder any of his female coworkers, what’s your point?

Jane, you ignorant slut.
