It is a bit of a strange one. As far as I'm aware most racing manual gear boxes are dog boxes, so that you can just bang it in to gear.

Stay classy, $kay

I can't see that being good for pedestrian safety

And mine wants to come to Le Mans with me

You might want to get life insurance as well........

I say fake:

I'm not blaming anyone, but it was obvious to an onlooker (e.g myself) that they were pushing hard.

Awesome, I hear they handle like on rails

I went last year and am going back this year. 2 words, Fucking Epic

I can recommend doing it.

Wouldn't that quench any romantic ideas?

Wasn't it Phil who strolled across the pit straight and took the time to buckle himself in before taking off, and still won the race.

They were driving very aggressively to out pace the Peugeots.

The clean up & armco repair for that took so long I had time for a nice little sleep.

I'll bring the beer

I take credit for that. Since I went last year, I've been crapping on about it ever since to everyone I meet.

I totally agree, I was there last year and had a blast.

I'm not defending the comment.

So how come you don't need a heavy vehicle licence to drive one of these things?

Here in urban Australia, we only have these in the road.
