Actually, any god who is believed to interfere with the mechanistic universe in any relevant sense would be disprovable easily.

Well, that or converting seem to be the only sensible options.

I enjoyed your comment, but I also think it's funny that you put so much effort in bashing attempts to explain Heinlein's change of style, just to add your own hypothesis.

True, Rollerball was a powerful movie in its time. Didn't watch that one for decades, will search for it.

Haha, true, that would be a fair assumption. Stupid me.

Well, Cthulhu would mop the floor with Jesus, so it seems like a reasonable choice of deity.

Ah, dang.

Maybe some medical Marihuana every now and then would help?

Ah well, I'm a pretty relaxed person in general, takes a lot to keep me up at nights.

For some reason, no SF movie ever moved me more than Dark Star. Odd, I know.

Maybe worth mentioning that Musk 'calculated' the $500k price tag, as well as the number of settlers, top-down ('what would be a price that one out of 100,000 people could/would afford'), and not bottom-up ('what would it cost to get 80,000 people plus equipment plus resources to Mars').

We'll see, I guess.

Hahaha.

Well, given what impact H.Sap. had on other species when he developed consciousness, technology, etc., I think it's wise to start wondering what a future with strong A.I. might have in store for us. Don't you think?

Haha, my reading is just fine, I'm just not familiar with the phrase. Maybe if try it in all caps the next time?

Could you rephrase, please?

More a general statement.

Why would this be sarcasm? I think it is evident that our impact on wildlife is overwhelmingly negative - especially from the perspective of that wildlife. This is not a moral judgement, just an observation. That we are the only species concerned with such questions doesn't change the fact that we make other species

Umm, Cthulhu has leviathan for breakfast, you obviously don't know what you are talking about.

Makes sense. Just as humans aren't really evil towards, say, dolphins or primates, but indifferent.
