It is possible that their blackness does not define their work. Perhaps they do not owe you a meditation on your own relationship with race just because they are black. Would the movie be funnier if it dealt with your own perceptions of race and blackness?

Is that the actor who plays Dong from Kimmy Schmidt???

Accents are not set at birth, they actually can be heavily influenced by a person’s peer group. If he has a black family and a lot of black friends his accent and speech patterns would change to reflect his social circles.

yo but fuck her friend who’s like “umm, michelle? you’re on camera? aren’t you trying to be gluten-free? ummm sorry about my friend guys”

Ugh the snap crotch is even trickier to get back on. It’s like loading a slingshot.

She has also said many times in the past that she is not black. It would probably be okay if she were at least an Afro-Latino but she isn’t. In both countries of her descent she

And less than Johnny Depp in Black Mass or Leo in J. Edgar. But who cares because someone is getting extra gold stars for declaring that a black woman portraying a black woman is deeply racist.

Wait, there’s a controversy over a brown person playing a brown person... because of movie prosthetic? Did you see David Morse as George Washington in John Adams? I cringed thinking people were making dumb hay over Saldana being of South American descent. But this is just...weird.
