Oh thank christ. I saw the phrase “36 Women” and the picture of Franken and immediately assumed the worst.

Personally, I’m glad smaller acts of demeaning and unwanted behavior are getting called out. Women have been raised to deal with the social contract of ‘boys will be boys’ for far too long.

Same. It’s starting to affect my relationships with my male relatives. I absolutely adore them and then I wonder if that’s only when they’re around me. I hate the idea of thinking about these awful things about my dad, cousins, etc. because you can never be completely 100% sure.

So I admit that I had to look up Helter Skelter (I knew the song, but not the Manson-related scenario) and instead of being horrified I was just like “Oh so it’s basically what the current presidential administration and most of the GOP bases all of their decisions on” and now I’m extra-horrified.

No mention of Charles ‘Tex’ Watson? His trial was delayed due to extradition / mental health issues, but along with Krenwinkel, he brutally murdered people at both sites.

I wholeheartedly believe this. His beef was with Terry Melcher for not giving him a record deal.

All signs point to him not believing it at all, and the Tate murders being a petty revenge - not on her, but on the previous occupant of the house, a record executive who’d rejected him. Helter Skelter was just how he justified it to his followers.
