Oddly, I stumbled on Deirdre Coyle’s review “Men Recommend David Foster Wallace To Me” several weeks ago. In it, she wrote about the incident with cocaine. She didn’t name Hafford in the piece.

I thought it was a beautiful piece of writing, so I’m linking it here in case anyone is not familiar with Coyle. It feels

My father told me he hopes my baby grows up in a world without sexism, and I thought, “Didn’t you fucking choke my mother?”

My rapist apologized for standing by while others said shitty stuff.

I can’t wait for this dude to reinvent himself as an ex-feminist on Joe Rogan’s podcast.

And, if my anecdata from college can be trusted, approach every self-proclaimed male feminist with a healthy dose of skepticism, as they have a nasty habit of mansplaining feminism to you and/or using it as a buzzword to try to wheedle you into casual sex with them. (Because if you were a good feminist, you’d be

When Martin Shkreli isn’t your worst boyfriend.....yikes. Shit’s rough out there, girls.

As it happens I just watched the documentary by Amy Berg “An Open Secret” yesterday. Marty Weiss features as does Corey (although I think it was archive interview footage rather than directly participating in this documentary). The producers could never get distribution for the film. No one in Hollywood wanted to

She should have started eating it horizontally, like an ear of corn - like Amy Farrah Fowler, because “That’s how good girls eat a banana”.

How is it relevant to mention that lots of women are raped by the police they are supposed to report rapes to? Is that a joke?

...in large parts of the world if you look at outcomes the police actually have decent track records AFTER a report is made. Hell in most of the western world a report all on it’s own has a significant impact and can do a great deal to protect people going forward.

I think about Colleen Crawly a lot. She went to the cops. Johnny Manzel still just hanging around.

The biggest problem in stopping sex crime isn’t investigating it, it isn’t prosecuting it, it’s people simply not reporting it to the police.

This is what happens when victims know they have no hope of justice through the legal system.

Can a lawyer explain this bit?

Lol. Did anyone else catch the self righteous “she later apologized”. As if she was the problem for having told him off for groping her “right buttock”. And the way he presents it as he rather than she being humiliated in front of the crew. It’s ok for him to grope her in front of these people but not ok for her to

“My actions are not reflective of who I am.” I wonder what is then?

Today’s dress is basically an homage to yesterday’s Megyn Kelly Palette color wheel.

This...is pretty fucking cool. Raising awareness in any venue at any time IMO is welcome.

It doesn’t really matter if they are valid or not. That’s an issue to be litigated in court. And he has a lot more money and resources to fight a legal battle than even the most famous actress.

I was wondering this too. I’m sure what it comes down to is that they actually aren’t, in some theoretical sense, legitimate in this context, but in practice, everything comes down to who has the best lawyers. So it’s unfortunately quite understandable for people to react to NDAs with such a strong chilling
