All on his first day in office too!
Let’s not forget that the First Lady also stopped online bullying.
what makes you think he won’t?
The winner gave a good response too to a question about the Paris Climate Agreement, saying it was wrong for the US to have pulled out given the evidence we have about climate change.
I think this is more inartful phrasing on Prick Scott’s part. What he’s really saying is something that everyone knows anyway.
These are biblical times: hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, earthquakes, Equifax, and Trump.
I thought the various states learned after Katrina that they need to evacuate people WITH their pets, otherwise people stay behind and drown. I realize that many of the shelters take pets, but the question is, do enough of the shelters take pets? I also noticed that the announcement of free transport to the shelters…
Plus many businesses, especially low income ones, have declined to close yet. Employees who will be fired if they miss work can’t leave central FL, where we KNOW is going to get trashed but businesses won’t give the ok yet.
Yes. I was really incensed at the article on Gizmodo, yesterday, and the derision for Floridians evidenced therein. One of the reasons that people stayed put was that they were trying to let the people in the most apparent danger flee first: there is only one main highway leading out of harm’s way, apparently, — and…
People with disabilities, the elderly, people in labor, people who have pets, people who are first responders or in the medical profession, people who couldn’t get gas in time or whose car broke down, people whose jobs wouldn’t wait for them to come back, there’s a lot of reasons and ways you could end up staying when…
I couldn’t evacuate if I wanted to. My car doesn’t have enough gas in it at full to get out of state since all the gas stations are out of gas. It’s over 400 miles to the border (in bumper to bumper traffic).
I am always pissed off when people are all “Why didn’t they just leave?” Well, let me tell you as someone who could have been in that position. Where are you going to go? You don’t have a car...you rely on public transportation...whoops..that’s stopped running. Maybe you have relatives that can come get you, but…
I doubt you’d find many feminist-minded people who would disagree that the 2nd Wave did a lot for feminism. The reason some people get frustrated when talking about the 2nd Wave are the blind spots. And not even their blind spots per se, but rather the way their blind spots often get overlooked by the younger…
Whether she’s covering for his senility or just the fact that he’s a congenital asshole with a tendency to incriminate himself, she could come in like Nurse Ratched or the senior advisor she supposedly is, and assertively take a seat at the table. Either would be preferable to her diminishing herself — just saying hi,…
Yep. I had the same nervousness about the idea of people applying or disclosing info for DACA. I wish someone in the Obama administration had just hit the “delete” key on the way out.
Me, too. I’ll be interested to see folks’ reactions.
In the future, I’m going to bring this up in response to “If you have nothing to hide” bullshit excuses and see how many mental hoops people jump through to try to conflate the two.
I remember when DACA was still being bandied about as a possibility, people were nervous about coming forward and being registered with the government, precisely for this reason. They registered because they had faith in Obama and Obama’s successor, and now look.
In this case, he’s unfortunately correct. Plenty of Congresscritters are do nothings sucking on uncle sugar’s teat.
“Congress get ready to do your job!”
