I could open it and if your contest has the lawyers requiring the following two disclaimers to be bolded for extra notice, it's pretty much guaranteed you've come up with a terrible idea.

WTF hometown?? I'm appalled!

I'm in the middle of my practicum search, which is a requirement in my grad program. I've been really hesitant about applying for religious schools exactly because of the mandatory swearing to a statement of faith /moral code thing. Good to know that perhaps there are a few more options open to me!

Perhaps you haven't been reading all the flouride hate out there and on this thread even? It has the same sort of "hyperbole" as calling Sandra Fluke a slut.

As one person with allergies to another, are you seriously going to go there? I have a deadly allergy to triptans but I'm not about to tell other migraine suffers that imitrex is evil and they shouldn't be allowed to have it.

That's what I thought until I read this article and then I started to doubt myself.

As I said, it's rare so I wouldn't worry too much about it. And at least I didn't have a migraine anymore when my friend rushed me to the ER with a partially blocked windpipe. :)

I had mine in Japan (much bigger and incredibly ouchy!!) so I wasn't sure if it was legit or not. All I can say is that I wish the doctor a transurethral ultrasound if he had a choice to use one as slender as that but stuck one 5x bigger in me instead!

He did a great job of really bringing out the inherant creepiness in the plot - he certainly played it more creepy stalker than the mushy romantic Meyer intended.

I've posted upthread about this already but when you try your new prescription, I hope you'll have someone nearby to check on you. It's rare, but triptans can trigger deadly allergic reactions. I was very lucky I was able to crawl for help in my dorm when my first and last dose of imitrex caused my tongue to swell,

yes, there are better prescription options out there. Imitrex is one for many people, though new patrients may want to have someone on hand the first time they take it (actually for any new prescription really) just in case they are one of the unfortunates who is allergic to triptans.

Too right!! Perhaps the Jewish version of the story is slightly different but the ENTIRE point of the Esther story in the Bible is that Esther BROKE A LAW ABOUT WOMEN NEITHER BEING SEEN NOR HEARD unless they are called for in order to save her people! My mind is blown by the irony!

I also wondered if perhaps this was a vulnerable student as well. Stories like this make me determined to drill bodily autonomy into my godson's head and hope to God it sticks. He has Aspergers and his mother and I worry about these things.

Yes, exactly. The Master's in Teaching (TESOL) students are back on campus today with tales from their practica. One had students who wanted to play the "spit or swallow game" (not sure but the context implied choosing which you'd do) and of course she shut them down immediately like any responsible educator, or adult

Yeah, it was the 87 tornado. I lived in Millwoods, which had F2 and F3 damage and while I was too young to remember it I certainly remember the tornado drills in my elementary school for years afterward. They take it very seriously in Edmonton. My parent's live in Calgary now and I don't think my mom's school has ever

Thank you for saying this! I was completely creeped out by the implication that if only they'd been middle class and in a permanent building nature couldn't have possibly have killed them. My childhood neighbour was widowed by Edmonton's Black Friday - her husband died when the tornado damaged his office. His death

It doesn't surprise me that this is an MIT program. It's my understanding that MIT has a really good reputation for providing programming and student services that consider the needs of all of their students, especially those who are "fragile" in non-academic areas of their lives. (I realise the language is a bit

The camp version of that song where I'm from utilised the "stand apon your chair and sing" punishment rather than "round the table you must go." - it spread out the humiliation a bit more since you had to sing after everyone had finished chanting it at you.

And people don't think our experiences are systemic. Just to add to voices out there already, it isn't nessesarily always in the kitchen either. When I worked at an East Side Marios my first year of uni, the front house manager was the worst culprit. He was always making sexual commentary to the women staff, untying

There was a previous Jez article that said she was given jail time for the stealing education - 5 years and that sentence was running concurrently with her drug sentence. Two different sentences, served at the same time.
