My favorite car as a kid was a R34 GTR. Not my favorite anymore but I still love it, and I still think its cool.

I used to absolutely love everything JDM and nothing else. Now, I have grown obsessed over 80s cars. While I’m still fairly young (21) I’ve had the pleasure of owning 6 cars, and have extensively driven two modern pickups. From earliest to latest : 04 Passat; 14 focus, 94 prizm, 87 Supra turbo, 17 Elantra Sport, 95…
Now if this was a first or second gen SHO in as good condition, i might have clicked that NP button. Granted, i’m biased since i own a 95 SHO (that i bought for $900 and is in much worse shape mind you). While i love the ridiculousness of a FWD V8, the cam issues and blobby design makes me really dislike this gen…
I’m saving up to import a Beat. Eventually, I kinda hope to be able to swap the 660cc for something with just a little more oomph. Maybe a 1.0 turbo 3 pot from the fiesta. Nothing solid yet, just a dream and a savings envelope stuffed in the dark recesses of somewhere in the general vicinity of my bedroom.
I’ll get a picture later, but there’s a Volvo 850 T5-R down the street. In the correct, glorious cream yellow color. It’s not in perfect condition, but it’s still the local unicorn for me. There’s also a Mercedes turbo diesel wagon. In beige. Not a unicorn, but fit for Jalopnik.
I actually own a 2004 Passat 1.8t. It’s my first and only car (so far). Sure, it’s not the fastest car but its quick enough, bought it because in my mind it would just be like a fat GTI. I quite like it, but I haven’t exactly driven anything sportier than this.
My mom has the 2010 model, it looks waaaay better than the older ones. I have pretty nice memories in it since I learned how to drive in it.
There’s a 84 hatchback 5.0 5 minutes from my home for $2500. Needs paint, tires, and A/C work (a necessity here in Texas), but it has brand new vinyl seats and clean interior. I was going to buy it as my first car, but the practical side in me made me o for a 04 passat for $4k.. I thought it would get better gas…
I was going to go with a 2007 saab 9-3 as my first car. It had 93k on it and clean title for only $4500. Sadly I wasn’t able to go through with it because of certain technical and legal issues. I did test drive the thing and it was fun to drive and more comfortable than any other car i’d been in. Sad I couldn’t get…
Not that i’d be buying one anytime soon, but if I was, I wouldn’t care about the horsepower on an Aston. I’d buy an Aston for the looks and feeling of driving it. It looks, well, like an Aston, which isn’t a bad thing, however, i wish it was N/A. If the turbos feel and sound as nice as the N/A, then i’d love one. If…
If I wanted a Chrysler FWD turbo compact car with a shit interior, i’d buy a Neon SRT-4. Thankfully, since it has a shit interior, i won’t feel bad when i tear it out for weight savings.
